Sitting atop the highest peak in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang region,
the overlapping mountains of Baishan Ancestor shelter thousands upon thousands of species.
It is one of China's 17 key regions with the most globally significant biodiversity conservation value,
and an important ecosystem on Earth—a vital treasure trove of biodiversity.

From 237 meters to 1,929 meters above sea level,
it spans four climate zones: mid-subtropical, north-subtropical, warm temperate, and mid-temperate.
It encompasses all peaks above 1,800 meters in Zhejiang Province,
harboring over 1,829 species of seed plants, 273 species of ferns, 368 species of mosses,
and 632 species of macrofungi. It integrates primitive wilderness of wildlife and human civilization.
Here, 97% of flowering plants form mutually beneficial mycorrhizae with symbiotic fungi in the soil through their roots.
